Quality Inspection in China — Verified Before the Container Is Sealed
Independent on-site inspection for construction materials in China. Dimensions, finish, function, packaging and certificates checked against your spec with a full photo report in your hands within 24 hours.
The Problem
The Container Doesn’t Lie — The Factory Report Often Does
Most quality failures on imported construction materials are not bad luck. They are predictable and almost all of them are visible at the factory before the goods are loaded.
Factory “self-inspection” is not inspection
Quality control reports written by the same team being paid for the order are not an independent check. They confirm the factory is comfortable shipping nothing more.
Tolerances quietly drift mid-production
First samples are sharp, mid-run drifts a millimetre, end of run is off-spec. Without random sampling across the lot, the drift only shows up on site.
Damage happens at loading, not in transit
Crushed corners, scratched glass, dented profiles most of it is loading day, not the ocean. Without loading supervision, the carrier inherits the blame.
Certificates that don’t match the goods
CE, SGS, ISO and mill certificates arrive as PDFs. Lot numbers, batch dates and material grades on the documents often don’t match what’s in the container.
Labels that don’t match the PO
Cartons labelled by factory SKU instead of your PO line. Site receipt becomes a treasure hunt and partial deliveries get blamed on “missing items”.
Defects you only see in daylight
Tile shading, glass distortion, finish variation factory warehouse lighting hides what site daylight exposes. The wrong place to find that out is on site.
The JEES Approach
Independent. On-Site. Measured Against Your Spec.
Our inspectors visit the factory in person, work from a brief written off your order, and record measured values not pass/fail ticks. Every defect is photographed in context, every certificate is reconciled to the goods.
The point of an inspection report is to let you make a confident sign-off, hold-and-rework, or reject decision without being on site yourself. That’s the only thing this service is built to do.
Measured against spec
Returned quotation maps row-for-row to your original BOQ.
AQL random sampling
ISO 2859-1 Level II across the full production lot.
Finish & material checks
Coat thickness, glass composition, mill marks verified.
Certificates reconciled
CE, SGS, ISO and mill cert lots matched to the goods.
Loading supervised
Loading plan, lashing, container number and seal logged.
Photo evidence
Daylight-balanced photo set, defects shown in context.
How It Works
From PO to Sealed Container. Twelve Inspection Steps
The same twelve-step inspection workflow runs on every order. The flow below shows how your PO splits into measured checks, evidence and documents, then reconverges into a single signed report.
PO & spec submitted
Send the PO, spec sheet, drawings and packing list. We build the inspection brief directly from your documents, no template checklist.
Inspection brief written
Critical, major and minor defect classes defined in writing for this specific order, with measurable acceptance criteria per characteristic.
Visit booked with factory
On-site visit scheduled with the factory at the agreed production stage, during, end-of-line, or pre-shipment depending on your QC plan.
Dimensional checks
Calipers, tapes and gauges against the spec. Every critical dimension recorded with the measured value, not just pass/fail.
Finish & material verification
Powder coat thickness, anodising film, glass composition, mill marks and surface finish checked against the order specification.
Function tests
Where applicable hardware operation, sliding force, latch engagement, drainage paths, electrical continuity tested on sampled units.
Packaging audit
Carton strength, corner protection, edge foam, stretch wrap, palletisation and stacking checked against destination port handling.
Documents cross-check
CE, SGS, ISO, mill and test certificates cross-checked: lot number, batch date and material grade matched to the goods being inspected.
AQL sampling
Random sampling per ISO 2859-1 Level II with the AQL agreed for the order. Defects classified critical, major or minor and counted against acceptance limits.
Photo evidence captured
Every defect photographed in context measurement in frame where relevant, so the report is reviewable without being on site.
Loading supervision
Container loading attended. Loading plan followed, lashing verified, container number and seal recorded, full loading photo set captured.
Report delivered in 24h
Inspection report delivered within 24 hours of the visit, pass / hold / reject decision per spec line, with all photos and certificates attached.

What You Get Back
A Real Inspection Report Not a Tick Sheet
A redacted sample of the document you receive — every characteristic checked, method recorded, AQL class assigned, and a clear decision at the bottom. Photo set attached, certificates cross-referenced, ready for your records.
FAQ
Quality Inspection in China — FAQs
01 What types of construction materials do you inspect?
- Doors and windows, glass and façade, steel structure, roofing, flooring and tiles, stone, bathroom and sanitary ware, kitchen and joinery, lighting and electrical fittings, HVAC equipment, plumbing systems, hardware and machinery. The inspection brief is rewritten per order, not a generic template.
02 Do you inspect for orders we sourced ourselves, outside JEES?
- Yes. Quality inspection runs as a standalone service. You can use it on any factory in China regardless of who placed the PO, we work to the spec you submit.
03 What is AQL and what level do you use?
- AQL is the Acceptance Quality Limit defined in ISO 2859-1. The default is Level II with separate AQLs for critical, major and minor defects, but the AQL is agreed in writing per order before the visit, not picked on the day.
04 What does an inspection report actually contain?
- Order reference and spec summary, dimensional measurements with values, function test results, finish and material checks, certificate cross-check, defect log classified critical / major / minor, full photo set, AQL result, and a clear pass / hold / reject decision per line.
05 How fast is the report delivered?
- Within 24 hours of the inspection visit. Loading supervision reports are delivered the same day the container is sealed.
06 Can you handle inspections at multiple factories for one shipment?
- Yes. A multi-factory order is treated as one inspection scope every factory is visited, every category is sampled, and the reports are merged into one document mapped to your PO lines.
07 Do you check the certificates as well as the goods?
- Yes. CE, SGS, ISO and mill certificates are cross-checked against the goods at the factory — lot numbers, batch dates and grades must reconcile or the line is flagged on the report.
08 What happens if the inspection fails?
- You get a hold or reject decision with the defect evidence. You decide the next step, rework at the factory, sort-and-ship, partial acceptance, or full rejection. We coordinate the chosen path with the supplier.
09 Is loading supervision included?
- It’s a separate scope on the inspection brief recommended for any FOB or CIF shipment. Loading plan, lashing, container number and seal are documented in a loading report with a full photo set.
10 Do you sign an NDA?
- Yes. NDA available on request before specs and drawings are shared. Inspection records are held under standard confidentiality regardless of NDA status.
